Welcome
Hello readers! Welcome. Today I open this channel for personal reasons, and it is about being able to start connecting with you. Also to be able to organize my thoughts. There is an overdose of information that comes through different means to “know” biomaterials, however, understanding their origin and behavior is always confusing.
Manifest
I will continue to feed this communication channel month by month with the intention of clarifying concepts and misused terminology, and to be able to provide feedback on each of your comments. Always with scientific foundations.
Guides and References
I believe that the best way to start is to learn about inspirations for working with bioplastics and biomaterials. I will make a brief and initial list of some references that I am influenced by and that define my work:
-Yayo Herrero as an anthropologist and ecofeminist activist.
-Vandana Shiva as a writer and ecofeminist activist.
-Afroz Shah as a lawyer and environmental activist.
-Joaquín Mas Guindal as a pharmacist in botanical medicine.
-Asunción Mas Guindal as a pharmacist in botanical medicine.
-Guillermo A. Schnitman as a writer on agroecology.
-Jesús Ángel Ramírez as a bio-builder specialized in rammed earth.
-Eric Klarenbeek as a bioplastic artist.
-Suzanne Lee as a designer of sustainable fashion and materials.
-Rejoin Michel Garcia as a pioneer in the recovery of ancestral pigmentation techniques.
-Liz Spencer as an artist in plant pigments.
-Nick Neddo as a nature artist.
Closing reflection
I believe that bioplastics and biomaterials are defined from an integrative perspective that encompasses everything from the holistic energy that drives their existence to the more scientific foundations that justify the cause and need for their production. They are a new alternative in the market where there is also an urgent need for a paradigm shift in the production system, because it is essential to promote the circular economy and banish the linear one.
